Meet Esther and discover the story behind our forest school.
Into the Warren Forest School was founded by Esther, a qualified teacher, Forest School Lead and Early Years specialist with over 14 years' experience in education. Into the Warren combines Forest School principles with the EYFS and National Curriculum to create engaging sessions for children aged 2 to 11.
Esther grew up in a rural area surrounded by woodland and farm animals, which sparked her lifelong love of nature and the outdoors. She has three children and six pets, and her passion for animals and the outdoors continues to shape her approach to teaching.
Throughout her career, she has helped open and redevelop two privately owned nurseries, successfully embedding Forest School principles into their everyday practice.
Into the Warren was created from a desire to bring back the freedom of outdoor play for all children. Esther believes that children thrive when given the space to explore, take risks and connect with nature in meaningful ways.
For the reassurance of schools, settings and families, Into the Warren holds public liability insurance and Esther has an enhanced DBS.
Our sessions are fully inclusive and designed to support all learners, including neurodivergent children and those with additional needs. We believe every child should have the opportunity to succeed in an environment where they can learn in a way that works for them.
Children develop a genuine respect for nature and the world around them.
Children are given the space to explore, take risks and connect with nature in meaningful ways.
Given the freedom and support to grow, children thrive in confidence, curiosity and independence.
At Into the Warren, we believe some of the best learning happens beyond the classroom. By connecting children with nature, we help them develop confidence, independence, resilience and respect for the world around them.
